Revolver

Reviewed by Conor Smethurst

Revolver is about a young boy called Sig Anderson who finds his father Einar Anderson frozen, lying in the freezing waters of a lake. The story is set in a place called Giron somewhere in the Arctic Circle in 1910. Suddenly there is a knock on the door and it’s a stranger. The stranger tells Sig about his extraordinary story of gold and the story unwinds to one of his father’s most prized possessions, his revolver.

I think Marcus Sedgwick has written this book very well as the story draws you in to learn more about his father’s revolver. I found this book very exciting and I liked the way Sedgwick used a lot of flashbacks in the story because you learn about his father and his most prized possession, his revolver. I really enjoyed the book and I thought it was very well written and had a great story line.  The novel really gripped me and I highly recommend it.
