Revolver
is a novel set in the Arctic Circle during 1910. Sig Andersson is alone, because
his father, Einar, has just died. He fell through a weak spot in an ice-covered
lake. Sig is waiting anxiously for his stepmother and sister to return. Suddenly
there is a knock at the door. It’s a stranger. As the stranger’s story unwinds,
Sig turns to his father's Colt Revolver hidden in the storeroom, just waiting to
be used.
Revolver is a punchy book, and the writing style is captivating. Marcus Sedgwick captures the individual characters emotions in different situations well and uses a lot of detail throughout. I recommend this book to anyone, as it is not too short to be interesting and captivating.
