Fever Crumb

Reviewed by Will Artingstall

The novel of Fever Crumb is based on a 14 year-old girl named Fever. Fever was found as a baby in a basket with differently coloured eyes. She is later raised by the Order of Engineers in the statue of a huge head called Godhawk. Phillip Reeve describes the story very well in my opinion:

“He stopped, coughing a little and thumping his chest with a fist. The pancakes had arrived. A tower of them, golden brown and crispy at the edges, with honey in a pot to drizzle over them. Charley started rolling them up one by one and cramming them into his mouth”.

This sentence brought images of pancakes with honey on straight into my mind. I think the book would be good for people around our age range as it may be confusing for younger ages. This book also contains action for certain people’s taste. I found this book entertaining and flavoursome in descriptive language.

I would give this book 8 out of 10.
