“Shall I tell you about the year I discovered love?”
Hilary was at his third boarding school now and still despised education. However without St Oswald's, he would never have met Finn. Finn lived in a hut on the coast. Finn is unknown to the government as he was never recorded at birth and spends his time catching fish and relaxing in his hut.
Hilary finds this a paradise. He tries to spend as much time with Finn as possible but, in some cases, gets into trouble for it. Soon Finn falls ill and Hilary has to do his utmost to get him better. Hilary’s fellow pupils end up being dragged into this world of peril where Hilary finds out Finn’s darkest secret.
I have never seen a book like this in my
life. It was very exhilarating and I just love the way Rosoff writes like a boy
in his teenage years. I would recommend this book to both sexes above 13 as
there are a few parts where some strong language is used.
I rate this book a fairly good 8/10.
