The Road of the Dead

Reviewed by Ross Cockburn

“The men were there watching them, always watching them…”

The Road of the Dead is a thriller by Kevin Brooks. It is about two brothers, who set off to retrieve their sister’s corpse. She has been recently killed in the most unthinkable way, raped and murdered.

This book was altogether a bit too complicated for me and hard going, because the number of empty plot holes was unreal! The first one hundred pages were a big drag too. But, after those pages, the book seems to unravel a bit more.

This book is certainly only for fourteen year-olds and older because of some horrible scenes.

This book was a BIG disappointment for me because Kevin Brooks’s writing is generally good, but now I am having second thoughts.

I would give this book 4/10 due to the reasons up above.
