“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kismet… Chance. Providence. Destiny. Luck. Fate.
Your David is a fool, a little white mouse. I have my paw on his tail. I’m not hungry just now. A little later, perhaps. You’ll know.”
Fifteen year old, David Case thinks fate is out to get him, so much so, that he even changes his name to Justin. But no-one can escape fate, can they?
Just In Case is a fantastic book and my favourite to
win. Meg Rosoff is an amazing author and her previous book, How I Live Now,
is one of my favourites.
The book is very cleverly written and really makes you think about what you’re
reading. There are some really interesting characters and the plot line is very
new, different and unpredictable. With Beast,
for example, I could tell exactly what was going to happen and when, but
Justin Case is a real page-turner and I was riveted to the very last page.
I give it 10/10 and hope the judges choose it to win.
