Just in Case

Reviewed by Emily Mitchell

This book is an odd book. It is not what I expected; you do not hear about people like David very often. I found it a good read, but through the middle it was very slow-moving, a bit boring and rather tiring. If I had written this review before I read the last thirty pages or so, it would be much worse than this. There were a lot of bad points in this story, and a lot of good.

It was a very good storyline, fantastically original. The character was a bit confusing at first but after a while, he’s an amazing character, more complex than I thought boys could ever be.

The descriptions do tend to drag on, making funny sorts of images in your head; some didn’t make sense. A lot of this story did not make sense, especially about all the photograph and what ‘Agnes’ did with them.

Overall I would say this is a varied read – if I read it again I would understand it better – but fantastic nonetheless.
