Just in Case is a somewhat strange book.
David Case has an ordinary life until his brother believes he can fly and nearly
jumps out of his bedroom window. David saves him and suddenly realises that fate
is out to get him. So to hide from this fate he changes his name to Justin Case
and changes his look with the help from a new-found photographer friend, Agnes.
With help from Agnes and his other new friend Peter, Justin has to try to escape
from fate.
The reason that I think this book is strange is that I have never come across a book with such an unusual storyline. It has a very weird plot that starts off peculiar and ends up bizarre. The characters are also very different from your stock characters. Not every book has a nerd who is an amazing runner but doesn’t realise it. Not every book has a punk with pink hair who likes snakeskin, and not every book has a boy who believes his life is over.
So overall, I think that this book is a decent read. However, if you are expecting a conventional thriller, this book is definitely not for you. I would give Just in Case six out of ten.
