Beast tells the story seventeen-year-old Stephen, who since he was five has been keeping a beast which is about to break out…
Stephen really is an unfortunate kid. His parents are divorced, with a drunken tramp as a Dad and a mother who has gone mad! He’s been in care for some time and spends all his money on pigs to feed his ever-more-rapidly-growing beast. With his beast almost out of its rusty old cage at the side of the reservoir, he needs a plan to keep this huge secret: but first he must get past his annoying care worker, devious foster sister and the ever more apparent police.
This book had a brilliant set up to win; eye-catching cover, good characters and an exceptional story line; but was a bit of a let down as the book just didn’t grip me. I massively enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it to all of my friends.
