Beast is one of the dullest books I have read in the past
year. Perhaps I just ‘didn’t get it’ but I found the plot very dull and there
wasn’t really that much to the story line. It was all right in some places, like
when he chops up the pig – however, even that could be more interesting and
exciting.
I think the only people who would think it was amazing would be
people who are keeping crocodiles as a pet and who have been shunted around foster homes
their whole life. At times I had to force myself to sit down and read it, which
I found to be a real chore.
I am sorry I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about it
but I’m just being honest. Overall I would give it 3/10.
