Turbulence

Reviewed by Ali Stanfield

What do you do when your world blows up?

This book is one that I found quite hard to get into because it takes a while to get to the point. It is about an average family in the normal lifestyle – a mother who is always busy, an artistic dad who spends his time watching old western films, Rosie who is a teenager never to be found, Jamze who is another shy teenager and Gran, a teacher who is obsessed with zombie films. These are the relations of Cay, the main character of the book, who tells the story from her point of view.

When a mysterious new couple are in town, Clay’s family invite them to dinner. This couple have a great effect on the family lifestyle and, hence the name, turbulence is created. As the couple draw the family apart, more secrets are discovered and Clay is asking even more questions about her parents

This is a good book with great characters and really throws you into the story. 7/10.
