There is a new boy in town called Steven Rose. Most of the other children find him weird and creepy, but Davie soon finds out something special about Steven Rose. Can Davie stop Steven and himself from creating a monster?

I think in this book David Almond portrays human emotions very well using the first person. It makes you feel as if you are part of the story and sometimes as if you are Davie. The description is very effective and I think this book is excellent.

Overall I would rate it 9/10 and recommend it to everyone.
