Clay

Reviewed by Sam Brewer

David Almond’s book, Clay, has a great beginning and a great middle but I’m not so sure on the ending because the book kind of finishes 20 or 30 pages before it should.

This book is about two boys, Geordie and Davie, and they both hate this other boy called Mouldy. But then this new boy comes into town called Stephen Rose, and he can make pieces of clay come to life and he tries to get Davie to help him build a massive clay model.

Here is a conversation between Davie and Davie's Mum,

“Get off me! Let me go!”
“Davie?”She whispered “Are you ok, Davie?”
“Aye,”I said “Aye, Mam”
“Bad dream?" She said.
“Aye. Aye. . .”

At the beginning of this book I really liked it and the middle got a little boring but the ending was quite good but it was a very short ending and all in all I rate this book 9/10.
