The Scarecrow and his Servant is written in a style that I think a younger audience will enjoy. The vocabulary used is easy to understand: “Signor Rigatelli was walking around the scarecrow, studying him from every angle,” and there are a lot of pictures that help the reader to picture the story.
I felt that the plot was quite weak, and it was split up into various main events that didn’t really link into each other. Older readers may find that this novel hasn’t got a very interesting story, as there isn’t much action, but it may be a good novel for younger readers.
Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t need a book to have a strong plot to enjoy it.
