Annika is an orphan girl who is taken in after she was found in a church in the mountains. She lives with the people who found her, Ellie the cook and Sigrid the maid as well as the three professors whom Ellie and Sigrid cater for. The story is set in Vienna in the 1900s. Annika loves Vienna and has many adventures with her friends Pauline and Stefan. One day her real mother, Frau Edeltraut von Tannenburg, comes to collect her and Annika is faced by the challenge of having to go from a servant to an aristocrat over night. But is life as a von Tannenburg everything it seems?
I enjoyed this book and found it really easy to get into. The story went along at a good pace without you being left behind. I also found the map at the front of the book quite useful.
I would rate this book 9/10 and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good adventure novel.
