This book is written by Sharon Creech and is around 180 pages long. Sharon Creech has written some popular books, but I do not think this one will be liked. It is written in poetic form and is made up of short chapters, so it didn’t take long to read it: this was the only thing I liked about the book.
It is written through the eyes of a girl named Annie. She loves to run, especially with her best friend Max. She is also likes art and spends most of her time drawing an apple for her art project. This is basically all that happens in the story, and it’s extremely boring.
Thump-thump thump- thump
Running up the path
In the balmy air
Full of flowery smells
And zinging bees
“Hey, Annie- banany!
You going to cut my grass today?”
“Yes, Mrs. Cobber- obber
I’ll be there later.”
and she salutes me
as I think about starting over
saving money
for pencils and paper
or maybe the chalky pastels.
Overall I would not recommend this and at some stages of reading it, I felt I would rather watch paint dry.
