On Tuesday 18 May everyone was waiting impatiently for the Malorie Blackman afternoon. We didn't know if she was boring or funny but we were willing to find out. Then the afternoon started ...
She started talking about her books Noughts and Crosses and her newest book, Knife Edge. Instead of going on and on about her books like I have experienced before, she told us about how the story was made and where the ideas come from.
Tell Me No Lies had the most interesting background story. The book is about this girl who one day finds out about a boy's secret. She wants five pounds from him but he refuses. She won't take an excuse. She says she'll tell everyone his secret if he won't lend the money, so he does. Then it gets serious. This story came from her childhood.
