It is amazing how often the hero/heroine is an orphan. There is wonderful description in this book. Unfortunately the characters are extremes (lovable, selfish, calculating, brave etc) and it hints at secrets, indicating a revelation near the end, only to have the revelation on the next page. That said I found this book compulsive and found myself reading it in all my free moments. All the plots intertwine, tying up nicely.
